Trying to identify this 1940's Teddy Bear that was my dad's

Hello,

I am trying to identify this old teddy bear that was my dad's. I have searched the internet and can't find a similar one. Over the years I was told this was a Steiff bear but now I'm not sure. My bear looks almost just like the brown one in your photo on the bear identification page. I have attached a photo of my bear. My dad was born in 1938, so he would have gotten this bear in the late 30's or or early 1940's. Can you help me identify this teddy bear?
