Trying to Identify my teddy bear

This bear was given to me by my Grandfather 40+ years ago and is in the same condition it was in when it was given to me as a little girl. I have kept it in a small cedar jewelry box all these years. I would love to be able to identify it's origin and age, etc. It is 6 inches long, mohair with stitched mouth and nose and has small button like eyes. It also had the old bead and cloth shield that was on the chest with a straight pin. Any ideas?
