Hi. My childhood Teddy bear would have been purchased in Sydney Australia early to mid 1960s. I’m not sure if he is Australian made but I guess he would have been. He measures approximately 16 inches long. This teddy is a nice golden honey colour. I think it originally had a musical movement in his back but unfortunately it stopped working. I think it possibly played twinkle twinkle little star. In later years it was replaced with another one so he has a new incision and repair in his back to put the music box inside with winder on the outside. He has also had a home made repair on the back of his right arm. His nose and mouth is stitched with what appears to be black wool or polyester yarn. I can’t see any brand labels on the bear. I’m not sure what the material is made of but feels fairly soft. He seems to be thinning out in places but I can’t really remember what he was like initially. His eyes have a black centre and amber coloured outer rim and are probably made of plastic. Teddy’s head twists from side to side. With moveable arms and legs - His arms and legs rotate 360 degrees. Down the front of his body is a seam line. He has brown coloured paws possibly made from brown vinyl.
His legs measure about 7 inches and his arms about 6 inches. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar teddy if they might know what brand he could be or tell me where he was made. Also we would anyone be able to let me know the best way to store teddies while not in use/being displayed. I keep him in a plastic bag to stop any affect of moisture/dust. Thank you kindly. Sally
