Spike
This is Spike. Spike is a hand knitted bear that I bought for myself some years ago. I bought him off eBay and when he arrived here in South Wales,my little dog Siddhi fell in love with him and claimed him as his own. Over the next 10 years or so, Spike was flung around, hidden away down the back of the sofa and always loved by my little rescue dog. I tried my best to get Spike back but Siddhi always fretted on the odd occasion that I managed to do so. And so Spike became Siddhis. In the summer of last year,Siddhi -at the age of 14- became sick.He wanted to sleep all the time and was in a lot of pain. We took Sid and Spike to the vet and the vet said that Siddhi needed to have some teeth taken out. After his teeth were taken out he was aloud back home but Siddhi still wasn't himself and he just wanted to sleep with Spike all the time.So....back to the vet but this time they found a big lump in Siddhi's mouth. It was then that we decided that the kindest thing we could do for Siddhi was to let him "sleep" It broke our hearts to let Siddhi go. And so Spike has made his way back to me again and around his little neck he wears a piece of Siddhi's bandana. These days Spike enjoys traveling and being adored by me. Spike will always have a very special place in my heart because Spike was Siddhi's favourite toy.Sleep well Siddhi, I'll always look after Spike for you. XXX
