Rupert Bear

Hello

I know my Bear is a Rupert bear. I was given him when I was born in 1986; the only indication I have of where he was made is the made in england label on the sides.

I am not interested in his monetary value in the slightest for obvious reasons.

I am curious however why does my bear have a different patchwork pattern to all the others that I have seen?

If he was an illegitimate copy it makes no difference to me. He's still my bear. I would just like to know, why is he different.
