Possibly Gund bears
MY Bear was made around 1980ish. He had a Yellow bow around his neck. Dark black eyes with a copper looking ridged ring on the outer part of the eyes. They are plastic eyes but have metal oneway holding rings to hold them in place. He was all white but had cream leg-caps and ears. I don't think his arms ever had a cream color on ends of it. Only muzzle, ears, legs end. Ears had a white backing like rest of the bear. HE was filled with Yellow/Orange rubber looking foam chunks in 1/4 to 1/2 sized chunks. The nose was black plastic. The bear was created as follows! two parts of fabric for each arm. Leg the same but + cream end. One piece of white fabric and cream for each ear Snout was one piece folded and sewn into its shape. He had no mouth but a red looking tongue? The whole body was made in 3 parts. Front solid. The back was split in two and sewen from the outside it looks. All arms and suck are sewen to the body and made in different parts I hope that kinda gives a physical idea of how he was made. I was told he is a Gund Bear of 1981 and is a "Vintage Cubbi Gund Plush Teddy Bear" But I only find them 14 inches? My bear sits about the same size as a Gerber 1983 20 inch bear. Only thing I find that is not correct is the end caps on the Gerber bears arms and mine came with a bow that was yellow! and bigger then Gerber bears. I just bought a 16 Vintage Cubbi Gund Plush Teddy Bear Body Tag J Swedlin and praying it's close to my 20 inch bear for fur type. One coming looks well loved and the whole point of this a donner! I don't want him restored to brand new or replace him but to have patches warn replaced and fixed. Please be aware his blue eyes were not the ones he came with! clear plastic bowl shape with a copper ridged ring around a black center! Rich_Morgenstein@hotmail.com
