Blue Bear with my daughter

Blue Bear with my daughter

We bought this blue teddy bear in the early to mid 90’s, and I need help identifying the maker. My daughter lost “Blue Bear” at the airport and cried for months and while she’s an adult now, I’ve never stopped looking for Blue Bear.

This was likely an inexpensive teddy bear, likely purchased at Toys R Us or at a department store. The red plaid ribbon around the neck is the main feature here, as it was original to the Bear. It was soft and not too heavy as I recall, though I wish I could recall more specifics.

Any help here would be humbly appreciated.

Yes definitely Russ

Yes my son was born 2000 and he has two bears with that characteristic tartan ribbon. They came from Clinton Cards chain. I remember there being blue ones (we lost one bought the replacement then he turned up...hence the two ! ). Pretty sure Russ Berrie went out of business but there's a website to look up names. Plenty still around so I reckon of you look on EBay you could find one...good luck ☺

I think this is Brambles, a Russ Berrie bear made in the 1990’s! Oh, thank you so much!

It looks like this is a Russ Berrie bear. I have one like it with a similar ribbon, only a different colour and I got it in 1999.
