Little Brown teddy Bear
I’ve had this bear for at least 15 years. I think I purchased it at a yard sale in Pennsylvania. He measures three inches tall, has jointed arms and legs, glued on faux fur. The eyes appear to be glass or plastic, amber iris with black pupil; the nose metal. There is no mouth. There is a round mark with what appears to be a hole in the middle of the right ear. Or it might just be moth eaten.
The short faux fur was glued onto the plastic? body. The entire body might be something other than plastic, plaster or resin? Whatever it is, it is hard and does not give when squeezed. There is one staple in each arm and leg to hold them in place and let them move. The arm staple means both arms move at the same time. The leg staple allows movement of both legs in tandem.
The head/neck has some kind of zig zag stitch attaching it to the body. The light colored pads on the bottom of the feet are probably made of cotton velveteen or velvet.
The bear is a warm amber brown with the fabric’s nap running down. Several places on the face have the ‘fur’ worn down to the base fabric.
