The bear is a 'hard bear' and not soft. It has black nose, eyes, smile, paws. The arms and legs move about and I have it sitting down on my shelf. He is brown in colour with'short' hair all over. This is all I can say really, it has no label. I think it a cute little bear, even with the look of age on him. I would like to get some details of year it was produced and so on. I don't think it worth much (we've never been a wealthy family, and I can't imagine it being expensive when they bought him.

Hi I have a bear much like this I got him when I was 6 years old with my dad as a birthday present .so he is 55years old I think they are called the sooty bear.

I have acquired this exact same bear! The person I got it from said it's likely to be around 100 years old. I'd love to find more about it!

Your bear is in looks like mine but the arms on mine are fixed and do not move. Is the stuffing with yours wood wool (wood shavings?)
when i get time i will post a picture of mine, which will be under the name of Bear named Rupert like you no labels had him for over 50 years.
