Help with Floppsy's Heritage

I was in a charity shop about 10 years ago and saw this little fella sitting on a shelf on his own. I paid £5.00 and took him home to join my teddy bear family. There are no labels or markings that I can see, he has a crunchy feel when squeezing him and I can see the ears have been hand sown on. His head,arms and legs are fully movable and his pads are a lighter colour than his body. I'm not sure what material his coat is though.

I have named him floppsy and he seems to comfortable and at home with his bear friends.
Can anyone help with finding outmore about his background please?
