Old Yellow Teddy Bear

Old Yellow Teddy Bear

Hi there. I was recently come across this teddy bear and would love to get some information on it if possible. He has no tags or markings of any kind. He is 34.5 cm tall and golden or yellow in colour. Ive done some research and i believe that he is a mohair and is stuffed with wood wool. I carefully examined his body and from what i can tell his joints (neck to torso and also both arms and legs to torso) are all connected by what feels like circular discs, also by slowly pulling his arm back a little bit at the joint i was able to see that his joints are also connected by a thin steel rod of some sort. He has a growler that still works in his chest which sits about an inch below the neck and torso joint and just a tad off to the left. He has orange glass eyes. All feet and hands have 3 lines as paws. His arms from joint to end of paw is approx 14cm in length and his legs are approx 15cm from joint to bottom of heel. His paws on both hands and feet are covered by what looks like some kind of cream coloured mesh like material.....I hope the information and pictures ive provided are enough for you to help identify this teddy.

Kind Regards
Amira

Snuggle Bear
by: Lisa

Looks to me like the "Snuggle" bear. Ours was so beat up and worn out, he retired at an early age. (Spent too much time in our friend's fish tank, I think). Water finally got to him and he developed a drinking problem.

I have one being restored. I would say a Chiltern Will bear. Should make a growl.
From what I have seen worth maybe £250 if in working order.

I have a similar bear
by: Anonymous

I have a similar bear--paw pads look the same, also the eyes. His nose was mostly chewed off by someone''s dog, so I am looking at these websites to try to find a good approximation of his nose and mouth. I received my teddy in 1951 or 1952. He shows his wear, but the expression on his face is friendly and kind. I hope I can have him restored to resemble his former self!

I left my very similar teddy on a bus in Llandudno Junction in North Wales UK 72 years ago. He looked just like yours and I mourned him for ages
