Edward Bear
This is my mother’s bear called Edward, of course! She was born in 1931 and she and Edward were inseparable. They had many adventures together and he soon became quite worn out. He was once dropped in a bucket of dirty floor mopping water and this made his pink color a lot browner which was thought nicer. She didn’t like pink at all! When she was going up to Cambridge University, my Grandfather, who was a very good artist, painted a portrait of Edward for her to take to college as he thought she would feel embarrassed about taking a bear to University. I’m glad to say both Edward and the portrait accompanied her
