My Teddy
I was given him on the day of my Birth in 1933. We have been through a lot together since then. He was my comfort during the terrible WW2 bombings in the U.K. He was nearly destroyed by the Health people when I was ill at age 5 with Scarlet fever. Our house was fumigated and all our toys destroyed. My mother hid my Beloved Teddy and soaked him in disinfectant. He was waiting for me when I returned from Hospital, he was smelling very strongly of disinfectant! His comforting growl still worked for many years. Even today he manages the tiniest of grunts for my great grandchildren. We have lived in Australia for over 50 years and he sits on my bedroom dressing table. Still my beloved Teddy. He is a Chad Valley Bear. Filled with straw and ,like me, showing his great age and many years of loving!
