Bing Clockwork Teddy Bear
We think we have a Bing clockwork teddybear in our home. My husband got this lovely teddybear as young in late 50´s but we think it could have been older and belonged to his mother. It has a inside metal mechanism that makes the head move to the right and left when you are moving the tail from side to side and up and down, the head moves in the same direction, it also has a noice mechanism of a bäääää in the stomach (that works sometimes).Color beige mohair. The noice of the filling makes me belive it is filled not with kapok but the filling that chrashes a little bit wood wool. the teddy has been used for many years and been loved and have because of that repairs both on the feet and hands. The textile may have been canged. The seem is in front of legs, and we think the eyes they are in brownich and with the center of black. I found a brown stich under the arm that could have had a mark of the company. I have read that some of this bears had markings under the arm so i found this stick with no other expaination. The nose is in a hard material like in old telephones. The size of this bear it is 42cm long including measuring the eares. Looking at different pictures on web sites specialist i think it`s a Bing Teddy Bear. I found that a similar was sold at christies 2007 and it had this "clockwork" name.He also have a litte friend that we call "teddycat" becase it looks like someone in between cat and teddybear its smaller but with the same mecanism that the tail moves the head. this one is in color lighter beige mohair with triangular black ears with beige velvet inside. It has green eyes with a black center, and a little pink nose in stiching. I can feel that in the stomach it has a noice mechanism but it does not work. the size of this is 21 cm including the ears. it has something black on the tail but i rather not cleen it not to damage.
