Little Ted
Little Ted has been my companion for nearly 50 years. I was given him by a neighbour who was then in her 40s, and she had been given him when she was a youngster. He is therefore probably mid 1920s, possibly early 1930s. Golden Mohair body, brown velvet paws, no claws, glass eyes, stitched nose and distinctively no mouth. He is straw stuffed, and has a growler which appears to be concrete one end and possibly pigskin or something like that, attached to cardboard. Fully articulated head and limbs. No labels at all - and no sign that there ever were any makers marks. He has a very round head, rounded ears, shapely arms and legs. He has traveled the world, but is now retired though still in full working order, he was definitely built to last. He could well be British as his one previous owner lived in the England. I'd love to find out who manufactured him if anyone can shed any light on his origins.
